Postby SUMANTA on Mon Feb 08, 2010 9:03 pm

This is not a travel post with information. These are photos for friends to say, "PLEASE VISIT BISHNUPUR". I do not remember which photo are of which temple, but the overall impression of Bishnupur for me was something like discovering Pandora's box. Immense deep and rich terrcota, culture of music and so many things mre.

Sumanta, really impressed with the art work on the wall. #4 is just fantastic, the compo is appealing much to me. Nice exposure in all the pics and also the sharpness. TFS

Truly beautiful, so is the place. Have been there a few times before.
As i see a particular photograph, my eyes are drawn to the formation
of the border kind strip formed by the space between the two photographs. Its actually more highlighted than the photograph itself.
Wish the BG colour was a bit dark. Lovely photographs none the less, any wide frames...

Hi Guys.

I like the geometric qualities, almost abstract in a way, in frames two and four. The angular lighting adds a lot to defining the texture and shapes involved.

Sumanta, how happy I am that you, Jui, and the adorable Miss Brishti are able to take in such cultural treasures during this formative time in Brishti's life.

:)

Thanks to all of you for your cmments.
Himadri, to post it fast, I've used Picassa, so no border.

Adi, can you get settled in Kolkata  , we can go out for so many places.

Henry, there are many things Brishti might not understand the importance of it in her life. I guess she will use these memories sometime later.

I am happy with Pentax for what I shoot.

Sumanta, seriously, if I can take care of my livelihood, yes. But, I love my present job.
BTW, I am planning to visit some places from 18th to 21st of this month. Anything around Kolkata? My leave is not yet confirmed but most probably I may get it.

Nice shots of Bishnupur Sumanta ! The terracota work, the compositions with shapes and forms are really so impressive.
Pic # 4 is the best of the lot.

Thanks Subrotoda for liking these shots.

Adi, you have to stay in our house, so please do not book any hotel anything like that.

18-21 can be planned now.

You can see architectural beauty of Kolkata, local villages, lakes around Kolkata and probably Shantiniketan. We will definitely go to Chintamani kar sanctuary on one morning.
